We’re excited to announce our 2nd annual StrivU Awards for the 2016-2017 school year. View all the categories below.

Best Overall PbP Sports Broadcast – In addition to describing what is happening on the field, commentary should add another level to your broadcast that provides viewers with stats, insight and the feeling that they’re experiencing the game in-person. Each entry should be one full broadcast accompanied by audio commentary.
Best PbP Sports Highlight – Sometimes the plays made on the field are difficult to believe, but it’s up to to the commentators of the game to capture just how incredible a given play may be. Each entry should be a single continuous section of a broadcast spanning one play to a short series of plays.
Best News Show – A complete news show should catch the audience’s attention, provide viewers with a variety of stories and information, keep the public up to date on current events, include stories that are visually set apart from their print counterparts and should transition seamlessly between all video packages and commercials from beginning to end. Each entry should be a single entire news broadcast or show.
Best News Show Anchors – Great news anchors are able to capture the emotion of a story while being articulate and easy to understand. They should also have a chemistry with the other on-air talent that compliments each individual personality. Each entry should be a single entire news broadcast or show.
Best Story (video) – A great news story can be defined by how well a certain story was told and by how many people were affected by or interested in the story. Each entry should be a single new story published either in a news broadcast or as a stand alone story. Entries that aired in a news broadcast may include the intro and outro read by the news anchors. This category has THREE subcategories: Feature, News and Sports. Please designate which subcategory you would like your entry to be entered in.
Best Video Edit – Creativity can sometimes take a back seat to meeting a deadline, but editing an exciting video is a big part to the storytelling process. Each entry should be one news, feature, sports or entertainment video.
Best Graphic Design (in a broadcast…i.e. roster, matchup, etc.) – Complex or detailed information like statistics can be difficult to process quickly, but graphics create a visual representation of that information that help viewers comprehend it more easily. Each entry should be THREE separate graphics used during (a broadcast/on social media). Eligible graphics include, but are not limited to, roster graphics, matchup graphics, statistical graphics, and informational graphics. This category has TWO subcategories: Broadcast and Social Media. Broadcasts graphics must be used during a live or pre-recorded sportscast or newscast. Social Media graphics must be posted on at least one social media platform, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Please designate which subcategory you would like your entry to be entered in.
